Denni T. Ames ( born Thorsten Ames) is a singer/songwriter who comes from a varied musical background.

Born in Worms, Germany, to a rather large family with even bigger musical tastes, his influences range from classical music such as Mozart and Vivaldi, to the folksy John Denver and Cat Stevens, as well as The Beatles, Kiss, ELO and Thin Lizzy to
name just a few.

At the age of 7 Denni tried playing flute in grade-school but somehow never managed to learn how to read music. He did find that strumming around on his uncles` acoustic guitars was much more fun and soon got the hang of reading chord tablature.
By playing along with old records and figuring out basic chord structure, Denni soon found his passion for the guitar.

When his Mother moved the family to the United States in the mid 80`s a whole new world of musical genres became available and while the Banjo and Bluegrass played a short part in his early high-school years, it was back to guitar and Rock n Roll by the end of his senior year.

In the early 90`s, Denni, along with his younger brother on vocals, started their own band. Playing several hour-long sets which were a mix of original songs as well as popular cover material, they toured the U.S. for the better part of nearly 7 years, during which time he honed his song-writing skills and harmonizing backup vocals.

Eventually the party came to an end and the grueling touring schedules took their toll. The members went their separate ways as growing up finally included wives and responsibility.

These days, Denni is happily married and lives with his wife and their six cats by the seaside in Turkey.
He still spends a large amount of time writing and recording and experiments with new instruments and ideas. Many of his songs reflect his lifestyle and his love for nature, especially the seaside.

A self-proclaimed lifelong hippy with a penchant for taking in stray cats and dogs, Denni is also an
activist for Animal Rights and an avid environmentalist, a painter and writes and illustrates childrens Storybooks.
Summing up his passion for music, Denni says " Music to me, like religion to other people, plays a huge part in my
existence and I could´nt live without it."
