Born in 1971, Marcio Okayama chose the music when he was 13, since that, he dedicates his time to the art of playing guitar and to all knowledge regarding this instrument. For over twenty years, the guitarist has built a strong and consolidated career, going to a lot of different ways, and at the same time, to all of them together.

Okayama played throughout Rock n 'Roll and Heavy Metal São Paulo circuit, on stages ranging from the Victoria Pub to Centro Cultural São Paulo, Bourbon Street, and even the extinct Aeroanta and Black Jack.

Besides playing and recording alongside players such as Stu Hamm, Mozart Mello, Wander Taffo, Kiko Loureiro, Nilton Wood, Rubens Salles, Sergio Buss,Eterna,among many others, Okayama was included in all editions of Guitar Player Festival, Cover Baixo Festival, Keyboard Cover Festival and Modern Drummer Festival.

Teacher Okayama began teaching in 1989, giving private classes, and two years later entered the University Carlos Gomes, where he became bachelor on Classical Guitar. In 1997 he was invited by Wander Taffo to integrate EM&T's team, where in addition to teaching Fusion and Rock, he has accumulating another function as coordinator of online course.

As a guitarist and teacher, Márcio Okayama began his long relationship with the media , being invited by 'Guitar Cover'magazine to work as a transcriber and columnist of the magazine in 1996. Later worked as a columnist and technical editor of 'Guitar Player mag', and became assiduous contributor to other publications such as' Guitar Class' and 'Tok para quem Toka'.

Another facet of Okayama, is the artistic production of works such as "Santuario Band" (2002) "Lagartus" (2006),Caverna Leste(2007) among others. Moreover, Márcio is a producer of soundtracks since 2002, having produced several radio spots .



One of the features that define Okayama is his connection with ethnic music and New Age sounds. Márcio already worked with at meetings and lectures on Cromotherapy, Holistic Cure and other events of metaphysical subjects. His research in ethnic music has produced the book "Exotic Scales", which shows the use of phrases and scales from the oriental music.

As guitarist and producer, Okayama already participated in more than 25 Cds, including "Guitar," a collection with the names of Em&t; “Cromato" a New Age project composed by Márcio (it was an striking presence in 'Radio Mundial FM '- some of the tracks being used as soundtracks and spots) and "Eterna Ephifanhy" which spilled abroad and rendered him an excellent review in the “Gospel Maniac”

In 2006 the guitarist released his first solo album, "Márcio Okayama", with 11 original compositions , which crosses the Rock and Fusion boundaries with oriental and ethnic influences. The album was chosen as the Cd of the year by the site 'Tocando Guitarra, and assign a track to the movie "SP - 32" .

Currently, in addition to their classes in EM & T he is finalizing two disks at once! The powerful “Poemas vindos do Caos Sonoro “ and the contemplative Zen Garden.

Besides that he still produce and give clincs around Brazil
