hey, we`re Free-Men-Life and we`re from Rottweil, Germany. Our band consists of our frontman Friedemann Bauknecht, who is singing and playing guitar and our percussionist Simon Rumold, who makes a bit everything cause he is playing cajon, congas and shaker. Since we little boys we`re best friends and there is one big thing that connected us, music. And that`s a something that surely true, music connects people whatever you are, you do or think. First me made a lot of classical stuff,like everyone did, however, there is a few years ago I (Friedemann) start composing and writing and I recognized that I`m not such bad so I played a few songs my best friend and he also had this mind. That was the begin of Free-Men-Life. Well describing our music is not that simple but we agreeded that it is a form of acoustic-pop, but it goes also in the singer/songwriter genre. Our songs are mostly very tuneful and smooth. That`s a bit our cup of tea cause we appreciate a relaxing atmosphere and that`s we want to create in our concerts! For this reason our idols are great musicians like Jason Mraz or James Morisson. We are convinced that music can tell you more about a person than words can do. There is no more personal way to describe your feelings, hopes or beliefs! Moreover there is no bigger feeling when you`re on stage and there are people just waiting for YOU and you recognize the changing in their faces. I think that that are the reasons that makes music to a so big thing in our lifes, but I think I drift off. So that explains also our name. We thought about what could be the right name that just describes us in a few words.....and that`s what we found. Free-Men-Life. In our age (19) and environment freedom and life is just something normal, but it isn`t! Today we`re just egocentric persons just staring at our way and don`t have a look for others and that`s upset. It`s quite easy to ignore the issues we have in the world but we don`t want that. Open your eyes and just try your best cause there is something that will every time help you, music.
