Rocky Marsiano is the instrumental side-project of the Portuguese old school producer/MC/DJ D-Mars. "The Pyramid Sessions" is its criticaly highly acclaimed debut album (Loop:Recordings). With a strong jazz influence, "The Pyramid Sessions" represents a fresh and unique view on urban music. With the release of the 2nd album (Outside the Pyramid), D-Mars further explores the musical sides of jazz fusion by adding elements of soul/funk and Brazilian music (his mother was raised in Rio). The latest release "Back To The Pyramid" was released in 2010 on vinyl only.

The third album was produced in Amsterdam where D-Mars is now living. You can catch him work the 1s and 2s at Cafe de Duivel every month.

As a live performance, Rocky Marsiano is a quartet and uses improvisation as the main vehichle. No show is the same as the one before it... Rocky Marsiano has performed at most of venues all over Portugal, (p.e., Lux Frágil, Gulbenkian, Lisbon Casino) and was selected by Gilles Peterson as part of his night at Casa da Música.
