For over two decades music has been a big part of life for this artist. At six years old, Wendy sat down at the piano in her parent's living room and taught herself how to read music. By age eleven, Wendy was enrolled in the Royal Conservatory of Music program through private instruction and began performing in school talent shows and the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival. At just 17 years old, Wendy won first prize for a solo performance for her age group performing Jim Cocre's, "Time in a Bottle". That same year Wendy completed the Grade 9 RCM piano exam and also was awarded Principle Chair, Clarinet, in the Edmonton All City Senior Band directed by Mr. Frank Dunnigan, a former member of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

In 2005, Wendy was offered the position as Organist for the Ansgar Danish Lutheran Church and has been there since. The church recognized her talents and encouraged Wendy to apply for an Organist Scholarship through the Royal Canadian College of Organists. She competed against five students and won the full scholarship for organ lessons. She began studying with Tammy Jo Mortensen of Robertson Wesley United Church and has performed on the pipe organ. In 2006, the church nominated Wendy for the Enbridge Emerging Artist Award, which was given at the 2nd Annual Mayor's Evening for the Arts (Mayor Stephen Mandel). Along with 19 artists of every form, Wendy was short listed and attended the ceremonies at the Winspear Centre for the Arts with her family in tow.
That same year was a busy one for Wendy. She volunteered as Secretary to the Board of Directors for Pro Coro Canada and did some volunteer work as a radio disc jockey for several online radio stations including Radio Gets Wild originating from the UK.
Wendy finished recording "The Journey" in 2008-2090, an instrumental album consisting of 12 original instrumental tracks. She also was accepted into SOCAN and SAC.
Last year Wendy was featured artist of the month on the popular website, "MyStage Music".
As life sometimes gets in the way of chasing dreams, music took a step back in 2009. Wendy fell seriously ill for several months and worked feverishly with doctors to figure out what was wrong. Finally, things started to smooth out in the fall of 2009 and Wendy lost an amazing 60 pounds and is in the best shape she's been in nearly 15 years. Wendy is back in the game and has joined forces with local songwriter & producer, Corey Johnson of Owen Sound Studios to work on some new tracks.
"I'm pretty excited about this next project. Corey and I will be working with different sounds, trying to come up with something new and fresh. I'm looking forward to working with him and am learning so much as we go along. He's a brilliant musician and photographer with so much talent. We hit it off right away and I suspect we'll come up with some pretty amazing tracks." - Wendy
Wendy is also being featured on a new radio program being featured by the guys in Netherlands at Tribe of Noise.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
"I'd like to take a moment and thank all my fans that have been on loyal on youtube. My videos have reached an amazing 47,000 views worldwide! Not bad for a small town Canadian gal." - Wendy
