Upon moving back to The Netherlands from Suriname, this pre-teen was intrigued with Hip-Hop and the rapidly developing yet, lacking Dutch rap industry. Giovanny Benito Alvares was geboren 10 November, 1986. Hoewel geboren in Nederland, komen de wortels van Gio uit het Zuidamerikaanse land van Suriname voort, waar hij als kind werd grootgebracht. Terug naar Nederland van Suriname, werd deze pre-tiener geïntrigeerd met Hip-Hop en een snelle ontwikkeling en vond dat de nederlandse muziekindustrie nog wat talent te kort kwam. Raps begonnen in hem, zaden van hartstocht en ambitie te oogsten van vroeg af aan. Hij begon lyrische gedichten in het Engels op de leeftijd van 10 te schrijven. Zijn eerste werken waren gedichten die later zijn omgegroeid tot rapverzen. In het afgelopen decennium, heeft Gio intensief zijn eigen geluid en stijl geraffineerd. Zijn idolen gaan van 2Pac tot Big L, Biggie Smalls en meer. Maar toch vindt hij dat er iets van de Nederlandse scène in Hip-Hop mist, en hij is niet bang om een beetje van zijn eigen artistiek licht op het onderwerp af te werpen.

Met dat gezegd, muziek is meer dan een hobby of een ander deuntje voor Gio geworden. `Ice-G’ hoe hij het zou wille horen, heeft zijn zolder omgebouwd, en treft voor zijn eerste solo presentatie…“ DREAMS, STRUGGLE, AND PAIN: THATS LIFE!“ voorbereidingen.
